Which of the following tells how to write a scientific name?

A. The genus name is always capitalized.

B. The species name is always capitalized.

C. The genus name is NOT capitalized.

D. The species name is NOT capitalized.

E. Both names are written in italics or underlined

Which of the following tells how to write a scientific name?
The closest answer is A as far as capitals go: The first letter of the genus is a capital letter.

HOWEVER... if the name is in printed text in a book or article or scientific paper the whole name ( genus and species) is also in italics. If you are writing it down in your own handwriting the whole name (genus and species) is underlined.

Also, the first time you write out the name it must be in full e.g.Escherichia coli thereafter you can just call it E. coli.
Reply:for example, humans belong to genus Homo and species sapiens. Humans are then classified by Linnaeus as Homo sapiens. Note that the first name, genus, begins with a capital letter, while the second with a small letter and both words are written in italics or underlined

So...A D and E are correct options
