How do you prounce the bengal tiger's scientific name?
The Bengal tiger, or Royal Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris or Panthera tigris bengalensis), is a subspecies of tiger primarily found in India and Bangladesh.

Reply:The bengal tiger is a subspecies of tiger (Panthera tigris) with the subspecific epithet tigris. Thus it's name is Panthera tigris tigris. Pronounced:

pan-THER-uh TIE-gris TIE-gris
Reply:/Panthera tigris/.

Add an 'a' to 'panther' and 'ris' to the first three letters of 'tiger', and that should be good enough for conversational purposes with biologists.
