What is the scientific name for the word fireball?

the more educated word for fireball

What is the scientific name for the word fireball?
This is not a Botany question! :)
Reply:Oddy i've heard fireballs called "ball lightning" (although it refers to a jet of lightning that looks like a ball of fire because it's ionizing the air or something), i've also heard "conflagration" although it refers more to a fire that destroys things.

Hope that helps!
Reply:Several interpretations of "fireball":

primordial fireball ( associated with the beginning of the universe )

brilliant meteor

ball lightning

highly luminous cloud ( spherical cloud ) of vapor and dust created by a nuclear explosion

highly energetic person ( human dynamo, miracle worker )

Historical: a firebomb, a ball of explosive or combustible material thrown as a weapon in battle

PS

Finally I found a plant named fireball, NEOREGELIA SCHULTSIANA
