What is the scientific name for the side of the Earth that is lit up?
For astronomical objects lit by the sun (including the earth), the term "dayside" (as opposed to "nightside") is used.
Reply:It's just called the day side, no other special name that I know of.
Reply:That would be Day or Daytime. It is just that simple.
