What is the scientific name of palochina (pinewood)? The one usually used for light furnitures.?

Cassia alata

Common names include katanda (Tagalog); andadasi (Ilokano); palochina (Bisaya); ringworm bush, seven golden candlesticks, bayabas-bayabasan

I disagree with the Cassia obtusifolia suggestion; do a Google image search and that species is much too small to produce usable timber.

Unfortunately this plant has at least two scientific names, but the most widely used is probably Cassia obtusifolia.
