What is the scientific name for bamboo and scientific name for rattan? Please share your ideas.. thanks?
It really isn't a matter of my opinion at all!
There are hundreds of species of bamboo, each with a different latin name. According to Wikipedia there are 91 genera and about 1000 species. Bamboo are in the same family as grasses, Poaceae, but held under a sub-category called the tribe Bambuseae.

Rattan is also not the name of just one species but 600, in the family Arecaeae and the tribe Calamae, so there are 600 different latin names for rattan.
