If you mean the monkey that was made to glow by using spliced genetic material from a jellyfish, the monkey was a rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta).
Even after genetic manipulation, it would still be a rhesus monkey, capable of reproduction with other rhesus monkeys. I have no idea whether or not they did this to see if the glowing bred true or not.
update: Upon further research, it turns out that ANDi, the transgenic rhesus monkey did not even glow. He possesses the gene transplanted from the jellyfish, but doesn't actually glow himself. Two of his sibling brothers who were stillborn did have glowy fingernails and hair. No one's sure if the stillbornness had anything to do with their transgenic nature.
What is the scientific name of glow monkey?
There were actually 3 live births but ANDi was the only monkey born with the modified genes.
Reply:ANDi, it's backwards for (inserted DNA)
