Does anybody know the scientific name of a growing pllant, like what is it called when the plant first sprouts
sprouting = germination

sprouting w/cotyledon above ground = epigeous germination

sprouting w/cotyledon below ground = hypogeous germination

sprout = embryo

first rudimentary leaves = cotyledons

rudimentary root = radical

rudimentary shoot = plumule

stored food = endosperm

first true leaves %26amp; growth point = epicotyl
Reply:When it starts to grow = A sprout

When it starts to flower = A bud

When it starts to die = Wilting
Reply:some people call them seedlings when they first poke out of the ground.
Reply:seed=angiosperm

starts to grow=shoot or seedling

flower=in bloom, or "bolting"

dies=faded or dead

sorry, this is as scientific as my books get.
Reply:To Germinate = To begin to sprout

Germination = when the seedling sprouts from the seed.
